About the Journal
The Iranian Fisheries Scientific Journal is a bi-monthly, open access journal that publishes original research in various fields of fisheries science and aquatic biology. ISFJ was granted scientific-research status by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on 27 January 2001. It is published online in Persian with English abstracts.
Achievements
In 2009, the ISFJ was selected as "Top Journal" by the Book Week Headquarters of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO).
Based on reviewer evaluations in 2016, the journal ranked first among Persian-language publications in fisheries and aquaculture, with 80 points.
Open Access Statement and Copyright Policy
The ISFJ is a bi-monthly, open access journal. All articles are immediately and freely available online upon publication. Articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original authors and source are properly cited. Publication Ethics
The ISFJ follows the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and expects all authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere to these standards.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
Authors submitting to ISFJ are required to pay a submission fee of 2,000,000 Rials (200,000 Tomans) at the time of manuscript submission. Upon acceptance for publication, an additional 3,250,000 Rials (325,000 Tomans) will be charged to cover part of the publication costs.
Subscription Policy
ISFJ is published as an open access electronic journal. There is no subscription fee for readers. All published articles are freely available through the journal's website at https://isfj.ir/browse.php?slc_lang=en&slc_sid=1
Peer Review Policy
ISFJ uses a double-blind peer review process, meaning that the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not reveal their identity.
Authors may request that a particular reviewer be excluded from evaluating their manuscript due to a potential conflict of interest. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. The final decision on acceptance or rejection is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations.
