Abstract
In the present study, the effect of seven dietary carbohydrate sources on growth performance, feed utilization and amylase activity of Pangasiandon hypopthalmus was evaluated for 12 weeks. Fish subjected to diets containing raw dextrin and potato starch showed a significantly (p< 0.05) higher growth rate than those fish consuming other experimental diets, except wheat starch diet. Furthermore, fish fed with wheat and corn starch showed significantly higher (p<0.05) Interaperitoneal fat value than that of fish fed with potato, Alfa and waxy maize starch. Moreover, fish fed with wheat starch had significantly higher (p<0.05) amylase activity than that of those subjected to other experimental diets, except corn and waxy maize diets. Overall, this study showed that the raw forms of dextrin starch and potato were suitable dietary carbohydrate sources for further scientific studies on the carbohydrate utilisation of P. hypophthalmus.

Abstract
In this study, the effect of experimental diets containing different levels of carbohydrate and niacin on growth indices, carcass composition and heamolymph biochemical parameters of juvenile whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) were investigated for 45 days. Shrimp with mean initial weight of 5±0.33 g were reared in 300 liter tanks with 8 treatments. Feeding was performed 4 times a day using experimental diets containing two levels of carbohydrate 15 and 30% and three levels of dietary niacin 100, 150 and 200 mg kg-1with two controls. At the end of the period, growth indices, carcass composition and biochemical indices of heamolymph of shrimps were assessed. The best growth performance consisted of the highest final weight (14.05±0.5 g), final length (13.38 ± 0.05 cm) and specific growth rate (2.23±0.07) were in treatment contained 15% carbohydrate and 100 mg niacin kg-1 diet (p<0.05). Also, the highest glucose (53.66±0.88 mg dl-1), HDL (27±0.57 mg dl-1) and total protein values (10.9 ± 0.17 mg dl-1) were in treatment contained 15% carbohydrate and 100 mg niacin kg-1 diet (p<0.05). On the other hand, the highest protein content of carcass was observed in treatments contained 15% carbohydrate and 100-150 mg niacin kg-1 diet (p<0.05). Also, fat of carcass was reduced by decreasing dietary carbohydrate (p<0.05). Therefore, the results showed that low carbohydrate level with 100 mg niacin per kg of diet had beneficial effects on growth, carcass composition and heamolymph of juvenile whiteleg shrimp.

Abstract
The present study was carried out to determine the effect of different levels of glucose and corn starch as carbohydrate sources on growth performance, body composition, digestibility, digestive and liver enzymes of Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii). A total number of 120 Siberian sturgeons weighing 25.64 ± 2.80g were fed four diets including glucose 15%, glucose 30%, corn starch 15% and corn starch 30% for a period of 11 weeks. Results showed that final weight, final total length, percentage of body weight increase, specific growth rate, mean daily growth, protein efficiency ratio and condition factor in fish fed corn starch 15% were high in comparison with other treatments (P>0.05). Significant difference was seen between fish fed corn starch 30% with fish fed glucose 15% in hepatosomatic index (P<0.05). The highest content of carcass protein was seen in corn starch 15% that showed significant difference with glucose 15% and 30% (P<0.05). Fish fed glucose 15% had the highest content of carcass total carbohydrate which showed significant difference with corn starch 15% and 30% (P<0.05). The contents of lipase, pepsin, trypsin and chymotrypsin enzymes and also apparent digestibility of protein and lipid in fish fed corn starch 15% were higher than the other treatments (P<0.05). The highest contents of liver enzymes were recorded in fish fed glucose 30% (P>0.05). Based on the mentioned results, corn starch at the level of 15% can increase growth and improve body composition, digestibility and digestive enzymes in Siberian sturgeon.
